Thanksgiving

In America, we set aside one day to give thanks for all we have. Whether we gather with friends, family or alone, it is a time to give thanks. However, if you shift the conversation from Thanksgiving to Thanks for Giving, it places the responsibility on you to acknowledge the act of giving. To your parents, thank them for giving you life. To your spouse, thank him/her for loving you as you are. To your children, thank each one for being your inspiration to being a better person.

Who you are is the culmination of every interaction you've ever had. Whether that interaction was negative or positive, it became a part of you. Thank each person, known or unknown, for giving you a piece of them and contributing to your life.

Thank God for giving his son. Thank Jesus for giving his life. Thank the Holy Spirit for giving inner-peace.

Be thankful for those men and women who gave all they had to protect our freedom.

You give yourself to this world, whether it be within your home, in your community or globally. You matter to the common consciousness. Your thoughts play a part in the global conversation. Who you are impacts the world.

Be the first to:
Love.  Forgive.   Smile.  Hug.

Who you are is reflected in the actions you choose to take.

What cost faith?

The Widow’s Offering Mark 12:41-44

41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”
Every day you are given the opportunity to give everything you have to the Lord. As related in the passage above, the wealthy gave their excess to great praise. However, the widow gave all she had knowing that the Lord would take care of her needs. When Jesus points out the discrepancy between the two offerings, they didn't see that what she was giving took a greater amount of faith than did those who gave so much more.
God asks us to give it all; time, wealth, intention and problems. He is the Lord of all and he can see further down the road to ensure you have everything you need when you need it.
When you come to the Lord, are you coming with everything? Are you prepared to lay it all at his feet? Do you have the faith of a mustard seed?
Matthew 17:20  He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Jesus asks you to have faith and to give all you have to him. He will manage it for you and will give to you what you need when you need it. You have more than likely been living inside of want, and therefore, you have been surviving the ebb and flow of life instead of living inside of faith.
When you choose to pray today, lift your burdens and joys to Jesus. Let him be your partner in life and let him take you by the hand to meet the Lord of all.

In the Beginning

Welcome to Shepherd's Way Ministries, a unique approach to fulfill on your Life Purpose. God whispered your purpose to you at the moment you were born. No matter where you are in life, you are exactly where God needs you to be. You are who you are, just as God designed. Your strengths and weaknesses are part of what make you special and are what God needs to fulfill on his global purpose.
Within Shepherd's Way, there is no shame...no blame...no action that does not model the Shepherd, Jesus Christ. All who need are welcome...All who give are blessed...All who seek shall see the Face of God.
As the first blog entry, it seems appropriate to begin at the beginning.

GENESIS
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness.God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. And God said, “Let there be an expanse[a] in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” And God made[b] the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so. And God called the expanse Heaven.[c] And there was evening and there was morning, the second day. And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry land Earth,[d] and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good. 11 And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants[e] yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. 12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, the third day. 14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons,[f] and for days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so.16 And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. 17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day. 20 And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds[g] fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.” 21 So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day. 24 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. 25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 26 Then God said, “Let us make man[h] in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. 30 And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. 31 And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
God created out of love and that love is pure. God gave love form through thought and intention. God is the Master of Creation and created us in his image and likeness. Our purpose is to create out of love and with an intention for the global community. To fulfill on that purpose, you are asked to listen for your purpose and fulfill on it with love and faith.
